What was your part in your salvation? Today’s devotional will explain. God bless you.
Because of Calvary,
Titus 3:5-7Titus 3:5-7 English Standard Version (ESV)
5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
“Have you ever heard of the poor half-witted being who, nevertheless, had sense enough to understand the gospel? Someone said to him, ‘Well, Johnny, how were you saved?’ ‘Oh!’ he answered, “Jesus Christ did his part, and I did all the rest.’ ‘And pray Johnny, what did you do?’ ‘Well,’ he said, ‘Jesus Christ saved me, and I did all I could to prevent it;’ and that is about all ‘the rest’ that any of us ever do. We do not really help in the matter of our salvation, for we cannot; it is Christ’s work from first to last, and grace must have all the praise for it.”
