Good Friday was a terrible day for Jesus as He bore our sins in His own body on the tree and suffered the wrath of God that they deserved. It is what He accomplished for sinners that makes Good Friday good. Think about today’s devotional. God bless you.
Because of Calvary,
Luke 23:33 English Standard Version (ESV)
33 And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left.
LISTEN TO THE HAMMER RING
“Listen to the hammer as it rings on Calvary,
The nails that held Him captive liberated me;
You might say I’m callous when you see the joy in me,
But every blow was planned by God and taken willingly.
Precious hands of Jesus that healed the sick and lame
His touch was, O, so tender, now His hands are maimed;
And those feet that traveled over rough and dusty roads
Now are bloodied by the nails that my Jesus chose.
Listen to the hammer ring and rejoice,
Listen to the hammer ring and thank Jesus;
Listen to the hammer ring, for He’s taken everything
That was against us and nailed it to His cross.”
